Job summary

The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District (APOSD) is seeking an Acquisitions Assistant to support land conservation efforts in Sonoma County. You will process applications, help evaluate projects, develop GIS-based maps, and provide general support to the Acquisitions Program staff.

You will collaborate with the public, project partners, contractors, and agency staff, helping ensure sound real estate decisions while advancing habitat protection, sustainable agriculture,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in real estate, environmental studies, land use, conservation, natural resource planning, agriculture, geography, ecology, or related field, and one year of experience in land conservation or similar governmental/non-profit areas.
• Experience with GIS and map production in conservation/land-use planning.
• Knowledge of land conservation, real estate transactions, and environmental planning.
• Valid CA driver's license may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Process new applications from landowners interested in APOSD programs.
• Evaluate potential projects and develop project maps using GIS.
• Provide general support to the Acquisitions Program staff.
• Collaborate with the public, project partners, contractors, agency staff, and oversight bodies.
