Job summary

Snohomish Conservation District in Lake Stevens, WA, seeks an entry-level Field Crew Member to support riparian and stewardship efforts under supervision. The role involves working on green stormwater infrastructure, habitat restoration, and public engagement with landowners across urban, residential, and rural Snohomish County and Camano Island.

The position reports to the Department Manager with day-to-day oversight by the Field Crew Lead.

Qualifications

• Entry-level field crew position under supervision.
• Willingness to work outdoors in urban, residential, and rural areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) and habitat restoration projects.
• Plant plants, shrubs, and trees; perform habitat restoration and invasive species control.
• Care for plants at the SCD nursery facility; perform plant maintenance.
• Use manual tools (shovels, rakes, loppers, wheelbarrows, weeding forks, hoes, pruning shears) and power tools (push mowers, edgers, chainsaws, weed trimmers).
• Construct rain gardens on public/private property and prepare sites.
• Operate light/heavy equipment including mini-excavators, skid-steers, backhoe, trucks, and trailers.
• Engage with landowners and the public about projects on job sites.
• Perform related duties as required.
