Congenital Cardiac Surgeon

MaineHealth Maine Medical Center’s Department of Cardiac Surgery is seeking a highly qualified congenital cardiac surgeon to join the Division of Congenital Cardiac Surgery in Portland, Maine.

Position Overview

The program has over 50 years of experience and is the only congenital cardiac surgery program in Northern New England. The surgeon will work with the Director of Congenital Cardiac Surgery to further expand the division and collaborate with pediatric ECMO, airway surgical programs and the Adult Cardiac Surgery program with its centers of excellence in mitral valve repair, aortic surgery and mechanical circulatory support.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise neonatal and adult congenital cardiac surgeries.
• Teach and mentor residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center‑Tufts University School of Medicine Program.
• Participate in a team‑based, collaborative care model.
• Assist in program development and expansion of the division.
