Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Configuration Manager at Hanscom AFB, MA to oversee Configuration Management activities for all program artifacts, including configuration identification, change control, and status accounting. The role requires US citizenship and a Secret clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree or 7 years of DoD experience (5 in DoD).
• Experience performing hardware and software CM audits.
• Experience managing CM tools for inventory, versioning, data, labeling.
• Experience producing release notes and CM reports.
• Understanding of software development life cycle phases.
• Data entry/manipulation in databases (Access, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Oversee CM activities for program artifacts including identification, change control, and status accounting.
• Implement and manage CM plans to ensure baselines integrity.
• Convene and support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), document approved changes, and track Change Requests.
• Support engineering assessments and audits such as PCA and FCA.
• Maintain CM libraries and baselines, including software licensing, packaging, and delivery.
• Prepare for and support major reviews, audits, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
• Document findings, action items, and resolutions from assessments and reviews.

CONFIGURATION MANAGER

LOCATION:Hanscom AFB, MA

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000

*depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications

JOB STATUS:Full-time; salaried

CLEARANCE: Secret clearance required at time of hiring

Astrion has an exciting opportunity fora CONFIGURATION MANAGER supporting the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Division, which is within the Eletronic Systems Division and located at HANSCOM AFB inBedford, MA.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
• Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 7 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD

• CM experience within the DoD environment
• Experience performing hardware and software configuration audits
• Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, and media labeling.
• Experience producing release notes and CM reports
• Understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the CCB, and change control documentation
• Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments
• Experience developing briefings for management
• Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle
• Ability to enter and manipulate data in a database (i.e. Lifecycle Management Process, Microsoft Access, SharePoint)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Oversee Configuration Management (CM) activities for all program artifacts, including configuration identification, change control, and status accounting.
• Implement and manage CM plans to ensure compliance and integrity of design baselines.
• Convene and support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), document approved changes, and track Change Requests.
• Support engineering assessments and maintain documentation required for audits such as Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) and Functional Configuration Audits (FCA).
• Track and manage data deliverables, discrepancies, and problem reports.
• Collaborate with program management, systems engineers, and quality managers within an integrated product team environment.
• Provide guidance on CM plans for software, hardware, and IT systems.
• Maintain CM libraries and repositories, including software licensing, packaging, and delivery.
• Audit IT system configurations and manage baselines, updates, and releases.
• Prepare for and support major reviews, audits, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
• Document findings, action items, and resolutions from assessments and reviews.
