Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist III/IV to support NASA Program Planning & Control (PP&C) with CDM planning and control services at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role is hybrid, requiring four on-site days with remote flexibility per business needs.

You will develop, implement, and enforce configuration management policies, coordinate cross-program CDM activities, and train stakeholders in CDM tools and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Configuration and Data Management or related field.
• Knowledge of CDM standards and principles.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Experience in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and virtual environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Within the CSG, the NASA Programs Division supports our NASA customer in all aspects of human space flight and program office activities. We are looking for a Configuration Management Specialist III/IV. This position will support NASA Program Planning & Control (PP&C) by providing Configuration and Data Management (CDM) planning and control services.

This is a full-time position located at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This role is hybrid requiring 4 days regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide technical expertise in planning, coordination, execution, and audit/verification of CDM processes supporting management of the Program Baseline.
• Develop, design, implement and facilitate configuration management policies and best practices across the program.
• Perform change management and control through the document lifecycle. Working with the Change Package Engineer (CPE) and stakeholders, integrate comments, prepare change packages for approval, and ensure implementation and verification of program directives. This involves working multiple documents in parallel.
• Manage NASA review of vendor and International Partner deliverables in coordination with project insight team.
• Provide CDM support for Control Boards and Panels to guide in the execution of CDM, ensure accurate recording of decisions, and present CM status reports regularly.
• Provide CDM support for program and project Milestone reviews as necessary.
• Support cross-program stakeholder integration and participate in cross-program CDM coordination.
• Educate and train internal and external stakeholders on the use of CDM tools and processes.
• Perform technical Document Quality Assurance (DQA) to ensure product consistency and adherence to program policies.
• Ensure all CDM data and records are accurate, complete, and timely archived via the Program data systems and repositories.

What You Need to be Successful Configuration Management Specialist III/IV

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in a related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in Configuration and Data Management or related field
• Knowledge of CDM standards and principles
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Experienced in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and virtual environments
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment, where the team is distributed across multiple NASA Organizations, Projects, and Programs
• This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for Configuration Management Specialist IV include:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a related discipline
• At least 8 years of experience in Configuration and Data Management or related field.
• Ability to identify and communicate concerns to leadership in a clear and diplomatic manner

• More than 10 years of experience in Configuration and Data Management or related field
• Configuration Management certification
• Recent CDM experience with NASA programs
• Independent and self-motivated; proactive ability to learn on the job and utilize resources to carry out assignments
• Familiarity with product markings for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), export control, and data rights
• Familiarity with digital engineering tools
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and virtual environments

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
