Job summary

DLH Corporation in the United States seeks a Configuration Management Specialist to oversee CM for developmental and operational systems across the full lifecycle, ensuring baselines and release integrity. You will participate in CMP and CSAR activities and coordinate with the Change Analyst and program office.

You will develop ECP packages, manage baselines, and support system engineering reviews. A HS diploma plus six years CM experience and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are

Qualifications

  • Six years of computerized system experience including CM, ECPs, and lifecycle support.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with CM documentation and CM processes is required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for configuration management of developmental and operational systems across the full life cycle.
  • Provide front-end CM guidance to the engineering team and coordinate with Change Analyst and program office.
  • Support development of ECP packages, CRBs, BCMs, and SVDs; manage baselines and audits.
  • Identify CM items, manage change control, and lead configuration audits and releases.
  • Serve as CMPRO administrator for assigned project and assist new CMPro users.

Overview

Support various aspects of DoD Configuration Management (CM), which may include the development of CM documentation such as Configuration Management Plans (CMP) and Configuration Status Accounting Reports (CSAR). The candidate will be expected to participate in the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and the Technical Review Board (TRB).

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for configuration management (CM) of developmental and operational systems, implementing CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements to end-of-life.
  • Act as front-end CM support, providing guidance to the engineering team based on industry standards and best practices. Facilitate communication & coordination between the Change Analyst, engineering team, and the program office.
  • Responsible for supporting the development of ECP packages and all relevant supporting documentation (CRB briefs, BCM, SyVD, SVDs, etc.), baseline management, and providing support to all system engineering technical review events.
  • Identifies configuration items, implements change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. Reviews and releases various configuration items, including documents and hardware drawings
  • Works with the team to create and maintain software, hardware, and documentation configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) Leads change management by routing problem reports, change requests, and change notifications. Serve as backup to the Software License Manager
  • Serve as the CMPRO administrator for assigned project, managing users, roles and responsibilities, workflows, and processes. Assist new CMPro users with basic configuration management practices.
  • Needs excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal skills, and ability to work on multi-functional teams.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) years of Computerized System experience, to include: Test and Evaluation, Network Protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and Windows-based operating systems.
  • The individual shall be working towards the relevant certifications within one and a half years after assuming duties:
    • Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or, with COR approval, complete a vendor/platform specific certification
    • Microsoft role-based certifications
    • Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD)
    • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
    • Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
    • CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
    • CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
    • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    • Cloud certifications, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with (JIRA, JAMA, CMPro).
  • Strong organizational skills
