Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in configuration management, design engineering, systems engineering, or project engineering.
• Experience with engineering change control and document management processes.
• Knowledge of configuration management principles and engineering documentation practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with applicable engineering codes, standards, and QA requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering document management systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.

What You Will Do

As a Configuration Engineer, you'll serve as the guardian of engineering configuration by ensuring design documents, drawings, specifications, and system changes accurately reflect the plant's approved configuration. You'll collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, and project teams to evaluate engineering changes, maintain configuration management processes, support audits and regulatory compliance, and help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. A Successful Candidate Brings:

• Experience in the nuclear, DOE, DOD, utility, chemical processing, or other highly regulated industries


• Experience supporting engineering design changes, design verification, or plant modifications


• Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, IEEE, or other applicable engineering standards


• Experience with quality assurance programs compliant with NQA-1 or similar standards


• Understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management


• Experience supporting startup, commissioning, or operational readiness activities


• Experience working within DOE or NRC regulated environments


• Currently holding an active Q-level security clearance

Pay

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $78,581-$109,000*. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

* This position may be filled at a higher level for those that exceed experience requirements.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
