Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a Configuration Engineer I for our Schenectady, NY team. This role focuses on CM and PLM across engineering and manufacturing to maintain product definitions, BOM integrity, and change control processes.

Responsibilities include supporting engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing through the product lifecycle, configuring to order, and ensuring ECN execution aligns with CtO requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in CM and PLM within engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Strong experience with product definition, project structuring, and BOM management.
• Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and project teams through product lifecycle and change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain configuration baselines and change control processes.
• Support PLM lifecycle activities from design to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and sourcing to ensure BOM integrity and CtO readiness.

Major Manufacturing & Energy company is hiring a Configuration Engineer I to join its advanced manufacturing team in Schenectady New York.

What we’re looking for:

Experience in Configuration Management (CM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) within engineering or manufacturing environments.

Strong experience with product definition, project structuring, and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.

bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and project teams through product lifecycle and change management processes.

• Hands-on experience with PLM systems and ERP tools such as GTCC, PowerMax, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Engineering BOM (EBOM), Manufacturing BOM (MBOM), Unit BOM, and BOM integrity management.
• Knowledge of Change Control/Change Management, Variant Configuration, and Configure-to-Order (CtO) processes.
