Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a dedicated Configuration Management professional to join our ACE team in advancing mission-critical space hardware. You will drive change analysis, manage change requests, and support change boards to ensure accurate artifacts and known configurations across the engine product lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have strong written communication, experience with PLM and data management tools, and a track record in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product teams to provide timely configuration and data management services for all types of data
  • Facilitate development and improvement of configuration management processes with focus on Operations
  • Review proposed configuration changes to assess effect on product and system
  • Enforce configuration and data management rules meeting customer requirements
  • Lead or support configuration change meetings to document risks and impacts
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
  • Help establish a world-class Configuration Management structure and organization

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists and engineers, you will help improve effectiveness and overall product quality across the product lifecycle through driving activities related to Configuration Management. In this position you will perform change analysis activities including managing change requests, supporting change impact identification, facilitating change boards, and statusing change implementation tasks. These activities will support various groups within Blue Origin meet their commitment to accurate and on-time delivery of important artifacts and ensuring known-configuration is maintained. We are seeking an individual with excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the engine product lifecycle.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Work directly with product teams in providing timely configuration and data management services for all types of data
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to facilitate development and improvement of configuration management processes with special Operations focus
  • Review proposed configuration changes to understand and assess effect on overall product and system
  • Ensure configuration and data management rules are enforced and meeting customer requirements
  • Lead and/or support configuration change meetings to ensure risks and change impacts are well understood and documented
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements as required to increase efficiency and quality
  • Lead and support in the establishment of a world-class Configuration Management structure and organization
Qualifications:
  • AA/AS or BA/BS in a related technical or liberal arts discipline
  • 6+ years of direct product configuration management experience (Product structure, parts, drawings, documents and requirements management)
  • 4+ years of experience working in a highly regulated environment (aerospace, nuclear, government, medical device, etc.)
  • Experience working with software related to configuration management of complex product
  • Working knowledge of configuration management principles and practices
  • Familiar with product lifecycle management (PLM) and/or data management tools
  • Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in technical writing of process and procedure
  • Experience using Windchill and Creo or other PLM/CAD software
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
  • Experience in a data processing and management technique - either scripting languages such as Python or advanced spreadsheet data processing
  • Experience using DOORS NextGen, Confluence, and Jira
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $112,059.00 - $156,882.60

CO applicants is $102,721.00 - $143,809.05

WA applicants is $112,059.00 - $156,882.60
