Job summary

Amtec Staffing in Minnesota seeks a Configuration Management Specialist to support the design, development and production of complex systems for a US government customer.

You will apply CM plans, manage documentation, and release CAD models, drawings and software into enterprise PDM, while maintaining BOMs and CSA data.

The role is hybrid with at least three days onsite and a 9/80 schedule, offering exposure to audits and CM metrics.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Configuration Management or related discipline.
• Familiar with EIA-649 and GEIA-859 data management standards.
• Experience generating CM metrics and reports.
• Proficient with PDM tools and CAD documentation control.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

This position specifically performs Configuration Management activities related to the design, development and production of complex systems and equipment primarily for the US government customer. Assigned Configuration Management tasks are carried out, ensuring all program obligations and objectives are met in a timely manner.

Specific configuration management tasks include:

• Ensure application of organizational Configuration Management processes to program in accordance with CM plan.
• Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
• Provide Configuration Management support to the program. Monitor change process to ensure updates to the Technical Data Package are implemented in a timely manner.
• Perform CM tasks that include release of CAD models, drawings, and software code, and non-CAD product data into enterprise PDM. Maintain software/drawings/part data and Bills of Materials in PDM.
• Process software and drawing changes.
• Support maintenance of CM logs, such as drawing number assignments and Variance tracking.
• Generate metrics from Product Data Management tool
• Facilitate Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and maintain meeting records.
• Maintain the As Designed Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure the proper maintenance of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) systems and prepare CSA reports.
• Support the establishment and maintenance of the production baseline.
• Support ISO, CMMI, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Quality and corporate audits.

Skills Required

• 2 Years experience in Configuration Management or relevant discipline.
• Experience with CDM industry standards and processes, such as described in EIA-649 (Configuration Management) and GEIA-859 (Data Management)
• Experience with generating Configuration Management (CM) productivity metrics and reports.
• Experience in Windchill or similar product data management (PDM) tool
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) necessary to prepare metrics, presentations, reports and documents.
• Sense of urgency, ability to meet challenging deadlines, and attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
• Strong skills in interpersonal communications, relationship building, and in collaborating on cross-functional teams.
