Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA, is seeking an E68 Planning and Scheduling professional to coordinate preparation of project documentation, drawings, specs, and schedules to meet contract requirements.

You will reviews contracts, analyze design changes, and manage change orders while coordinating with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and data control to ensure timely, accurate documentation and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant exempt professional experience.
• Experience in planning and scheduling within engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with engineering changes and documentation controls.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation (engineering drawings, production specifications, schedules, contract modifications).
• Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
• Coordinates modification records for management control and prepares change orders for authorization.
• Reviews and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

The Role

Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

E68 Planning and Scheduling Group

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

SAP Experience Preferred

Familarity wth QNs preferred
