Job summary

The Ohio State University’s School of Music seeks a 9-month tenure-track Director of Bands (Associate or Full Professor) starting August 15, 2027. The position oversees wind ensembles and provides leadership for the marching and athletic bands.

The successful candidate will teach in graduate conducting, recruit outstanding graduate students, and advance an inclusive curriculum. A DMA or equivalent is required with demonstrated conducting artistry.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct the Ohio State University Wind Symphony.
• Teach graduate conducting students.
• Provide administrative guidance for the university band program, including marching and athletic bands.
