Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is seeking a driver responsible for transporting program participants to and from multiple locations. The role requires a valid Class B CDL within six months of hire, a clean driving record, and one year of delivery or passenger driving experience.

The position requires safety consciousness, the ability to assist passengers with mobility devices, and a bilingual English/Spanish skill set.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks
• Ability to handle emotional stress when dealing with difficult clients
• CDL Class B required within 6 months of hire; clean driving record
• One-year delivery or passenger driver experience required
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• First Aid/CPR certification required
• Bilingual English/Spanish or other language preferred

Responsabilités

• Transports individual program participants to and from various locations
• Assists passengers in securing wheelchairs, car seats and other mobility devices
• Ensures safety of passengers and operates vehicle in a safe manner at all times
• Performs kitchen drop off for inter-agency locations and assists kitchen staff with inventory/loading
• Performs scheduled routes for pick up and drop off
• Conducts donation pick up from outside agencies
• Maintains trip records as well as mileage and fuel usage records
• Maintains program vehicle in good operating condition and cleans vehicle after each pick‑up/delivery; arranges routine maintenance

Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications

Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients

Valid Class B Commercial California Driver-s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire, and clean driving record

One-year experience as delivery or passenger driver

High School Diploma or Equivalent

First Aid/CPR certification

Bilingual English/Spanish or other language
