Under the supervision of the CEO, the Outreach Worker works with Baltimore and the surrounding area to build relationships with underserved neighborhoods, provide advocacy, and assist with connecting individuals to Citywide Behavioral Health services and housing. The Outreach Worker must have previous experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health issues. The Outreach Worker identifies individuals through direct street outreach activities, organization, and networking. The Outreach Worker will work a conventional work week that includes evening hours and may require weekend work.
In identifying highly vulnerable neighbors experiencing mental health, addiction, and homelessness, the Outreach Worker will gather the necessary information and bring it back to CBH to review to see if the individual is appropriate for our facility. If so, arrange to get the client to the CBH center. The Outreach Worker must be detail-oriented, have strong follow-up skills, and must be able to communicate and connect with the community.
