Job summary

Leola Construction is seeking a Concrete Superintendent to oversee residential concrete operations, including slab-on-grade and post-tension pours for single-family homes. You will direct crews and subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and on-schedule, on-budget project execution across multiple subdivisions.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in residential concrete supervision and practical post-tension experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of concrete superintendent or foreman experience in residential construction.
• Hands-on knowledge of post-tension slab systems, including cable layout and inspection requirements.
• Familiarity with Texas soil conditions and corresponding foundation methods.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; OSHA 10 required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead concrete crews and subcontractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and a safe jobsite.
• Oversee daily concrete operations across multiple residential sites, including slab-on-grade and post-tension pours.
• Manage all phases of slab construction to maintain quality, schedule, and budget targets.
• Coordinate with builders, engineers, ready-mix suppliers, pump operators, and subcontractors.
• Perform site inspections and progress reviews to identify issues before they impact pours.
• Enforce safety protocols and compliance with local codes and engineer specs.
• Provide clear daily updates, photos, and reports to project managers and office staff.

This is a hands-on, field-based position operating across multiple residential subdivisions. The ideal candidate combines strong communication, accountability, and a drive to grow, and keeps every pour on quality, on schedule, and on budget. Here’s what you get to do:

• Lead Crews & Subcontractors: Lead and hold accountable concrete crews and subcontractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and a safe jobsite at all times.
• Oversee Concrete Operations: Oversee daily concrete operations across multiple residential jobsites, including slab-on-grade and post-tension foundation pours for single-family homes.
• Own Every Phase of the Slab: Manage all phases of slab construction (site prep, grading, form setting, vapor barrier and termite treatment, post-tension cable layout, rebar placement, pour, finish, and stressing) to keep quality, schedule, and budget targets on track.
• Coordinate Trades & Suppliers: Coordinate directly with builder superintendents, post-tension engineers, ready-mix suppliers, pump operators, and subcontractor crews to keep production flowing across multiple subdivisions.
• Inspect & Solve Proactively: Conduct site inspections and progress reviews, identifying issues with soil conditions, moisture, form alignment, and cable placement before they impact the pour.
• Safety & Code Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes, municipal inspections, and engineer specifications.
• Communicate & Report: Communicate clearly with project managers, builder partners, and office staff, providing detailed daily updates, photos, and reports to maintain transparency.

Here’s why you’re a great fit for this role:

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of concrete superintendent or foreman experience in residential construction; production homebuilder experience strongly preferred.
• Post-Tension Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of post-tension slab systems, including cable layout, stressing, and inspection requirements.
• Local Ground Knowledge: Familiarity with Texas soil conditions (expansive clay, coastal soils) and the foundation methods used to address them.
• Credentials: Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; OSHA 10-Hour Certification preferred; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
