Job summary

Duininck Concrete in Hutchinson, MN, is seeking a Concrete Plant Manager to oversee plant operations, production, logistics, and maintenance while ensuring policy compliance. The role supervises 7–10 staff and aims to maximize daily output and meet budget and production goals.

Develop and implement strategies with the Area Manager, manage budgets and KPIs, coordinate safety and staffing, and foster a customer-focused approach to growth.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage strategies, plans and budgets with the Area Manager to achieve the organizational and financial objectives of the company.
  • Achieve the overall organizational and financial objectives by assuming responsibilities for controlling budgets, target sand objectives (KPIs), providing regular reports on progress to the Area Manager and highlighting variances.
  • Coordinate and give the necessary direction, control, and management to achieve operating objectives, budgets, and targets that align with the business plan and strategy.
  • Ensure targets and objectives within each area of the business are met, it is important to ensure good people management practices in line with the company values and policies.
  • Ensure that the key roles are staffed with qualified people and roles are clearly defined and understood.
  • Effectively prioritize managing scheduling deadlines and workflow.
  • Retain, motivate and develop employees to achieve established employee performance and business objectives.
  • Provide a customer‑focused approach throughout the company, building and maintaining the contacts necessary for the future development of the business, proactively promoting the company.
  • Effectively manage labor requirements/staffing, production planning, inventory management, instrumentation calibration and plant modifications.
  • Lead people and lead by example to build relationships, develop respect and loyalty with employees and managers.
  • Apply critical thinking to analyze and identify problems by finding the root cause and creating solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.

The Role

Work Environment
  • Work indoors and occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work in a moderate noisy environment.
  • Work with gasoline and diesel engines, electrical motors
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, stoop, crouch, crawl, stretch, sit, reach and grasp
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Extended work hours may be required.
What We Look For

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1‑3 years’ experience in the construction industry
  • Class A CDL
  • MN DOT Certification
  • Mechanical aptitude to ensure equipment is maintained, supported and available for use
  • Math skills: Calculate discounts, interest, commission, proportion, percentage, area, circumference and volume.
  • Speak, read and understand documents in English
