Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Concrete Laboratory Technician in Sarasota. No experience is required; you will work under supervision and receive paid training to learn concrete lab procedures.

You will assist with sample prep, testing, data entry, and maintaining accurate calibration records while pursuing certifications. This is a growth-focused role with opportunities to advance as you earn credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and basic math skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and responsible work ethic.
• Ability to follow directions and work under close supervision.
• Basic computer proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory tests on concrete and construction material samples under supervision.
• Assists with sample preparation and testing procedures.
• Compiles test results, data input, data processing, and other administrative duties.
• Performs concrete laboratory testing including but not limited to:Stripping and labeling samples; Setting samples for curing; Monitoring daily temperature logs; Breaking samples.
• Maintains a clean and organized laboratory environment.
• Supports calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Maintains calibration records and QA/QC documentation.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Assists with additional laboratory functions and occasional fieldwork as needed.
