Job summary

Fessler & Bowman, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Carpenter to support civil concrete projects. You will weld, form, and assemble forming systems, read blueprints, and work with steel bars and mesh to reinforce concrete, as part of a collaborative team.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 75 lbs., follow safety policies, and have a valid driver's license. Travel to nearby sites may be required; full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil construction and concrete works.
• Ability to read blueprints and measure/cut accurately.
• Experience building concrete forms and decks is desired.

Responsibilities

• Welding, building forms and forming systems for concrete
• Operating basic hand tools, small powered equipment, and everything else that a carpenter does in the heavy civil field
• Position and secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce concrete
• Use a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, including rod busters
• Other duties to be assigned
