Responsibilities
Set structural forming materials. Install footing forms. Build forms for catch basins, box culverts, head walls, etc.
Perform layout, place concrete to specified depth and consistency, strip forms, and patch. 1-3 years of heavy civil concrete carpenter experience or equivalent combination of experience and training is preferred.
Assemble and fasten materials together to build a structure’s wood or metal framework using bolts, nails, or screws.
Use hand tools, a plumb rule, and a level to erect forms and framework.
Climb ladders, concrete formwork, and other structures required to erect formwork and gain access to elevated areas.
Perform concrete placement and finishing, including slab placement, finishing, curing, and cutting.
Handcraft, assemble, and/or disassemble parts using woodworking and metalworking machines.
Follow and perform functions in accordance with company and OSHA safety guidelines.
Update and apply pertinent knowledge to complete one’s own work.
Cut, shape, fit, or join wooden or other construction materials.
Use basic carpentry and concrete fabrication techniques.
Maintain consistent, timely, and predictable attendance.
Tie rebar and set string line for concrete form setting.
Maintain current knowledge of all tools and equipment needed.
Use a power drill to bore holes in wood, masonry, or concrete walls.
Move and lift heavy objects.
Perform other duties as determined and required by project needs.
