Job summary

Layton Construction, a national general contractor based in Utah, seeks an experienced Concrete Finisher to level, flatten, and smooth concrete surfaces. The role emphasizes applying materials to walls, safety and integrity in workmanship, and potential supervision of apprentices.

The job requires 3 years of concrete finishing experience, basic English comprehension for construction tasks, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Three years of concrete finishing or related work experience.
• Understands and conveys basic English commands, questions, and instructions regarding commercial construction.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to use carpentry math to calculate measurements.
• Owns the tools required of the Concrete Finisher position.
• Commits to and meets all scheduled attendance and production deadlines.
• At least 18 years of age.

• Apply applicable materials to hardened concrete walls for a smoother architectural appearance.

• Comply with all the safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety personnel.
• Work effectively as a team member of the field workforce.
• Follow supervisor instructions and decisions.
• Understand and follow lock out/tag out procedures.
• This position may supervise apprentice finishers.
