Yates Construction is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to construct, erect, install and repair concrete structures on the job site. You will train helpers, read drawings, and work with forms and form systems to meet tolerances and specifications.

Responsibilities include setting grades, placing and finishing concrete, operating power tools, and adhering to safety procedures. This role requires 4+ years of relevant experience and NCCER certifications, with emphasis on quality and team safety.

• NCCER “Performance” Concrete Finisher journeyman verification.
• Other verified experiences or certifications with concrete finisher experience.

Responsabilidades

• Operate a transit/level to set grade for paving forms and sub-grade.
• Set forms for alleys, streets, driveways, sidewalks, ADA ramps, inlets, curbs.
• Place and finish concrete to correct grade per drawings and specs.
• Operate electric and pneumatic tools.
• Direct the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.
• Pouring, smoothing and leveling concrete with rake, trowel, float, screed.
• Apply seal and hardening components.
• Safely operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Polish surface using power surfacing machine.
• Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles
• Follow Yates Code of Conduct
• Safety responsibilities and expectations
• Other related duties as needed by Field Supervision.

Job Summary

Concrete Finisher constructs, erects, installs, and repairs concrete structures, in fixtures of wood, plywood, and patent type form systems using hand tools and power tools within tolerances that conform to drawings and specifications, as well as directing and training Concrete Finisher helpers to do the same.

Overview Of Primary Duties

• Operate a transit/level to set grade for paving forms, establish sub-grade, and set grade pens for finished concrete grade.
• Set forms for alleys, streets, driveways, sidewalks, ADA ramps, inlets, curbs, and concrete structure improvements.
• Place and finish concrete to the correct grade to ensure proper drainage and smooth ride quality that adheres to all City, State, and Federal Standards.
• Operation of electric and pneumatic tools.
• Selects, loads, and hauls job material to the work site.
• Direct the casting of the concrete with the truck driver
• Pouring smoothing and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed.
• Apply seal and hardening components.
• Safely operates power vibrators to ensure the concrete is compacted.
• Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.

• Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work by the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices
• Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.

• Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.

Qualifications

Level III:

• Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related concrete finisher experience
• NCCER Concrete Finisher journeyman certification

Level II

• Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related concrete finisher experience
• NCCER “Performance” Concrete Finisher journeyman verification
• Other verified experiences or certifications with concrete finisher experience

Level I

• Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related concrete finisher experience

Requirements

• Read ISO's, Blueprints, P&IDs
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan, and perform work activities independently
• The degree of job responsibilities and requirements may vary depending on months of experience
• Personal hand tools required for craft as established on the Yates Industrial Minimum Tool List
• Successful completion of required Safety training to include, but not limited to, Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights

• Ability to hear bells, whistles, and alarms
• Required to wear safety-approved body harnesses when working at 4’ or above
• Required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting
• Ability to talk and hear to communicate
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects up to 25 lbs.
• Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision
