Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Concrete Finisher to perform concrete repair, maintenance, construction, and finishing for the Road & Bridge Division. You will smooth and finish surfaces on floors, walls, sidewalks, inlets, and curbs to required textures and ensure a safe, aesthetically pleasing result.

The role may require operating equipment and driving county vehicles, reading plans, and coordinating with crew members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years of general concrete work or similar experience.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Preferred: CDL and experience with concrete finishing and ADA ramps.

Responsibilities

• Smooth and finish poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, inlets, retaining walls, or curbs.
• Finish concrete to level plane and sound structure using floating, troweling, brooming.
• Read plans to set forms and fasten steel rods and braces.
• Operate/drive equipment used in construction, maintenance, snow plowing, and road repair.
• Lead small crews and ensure safety procedures and traffic control.
