Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Finish poured concrete to specs on commercial projects (parking structures, offices, warehouses).
• Apply cementitious materials to hardened concrete walls for smoother appearance.
• Identify hazards and follow safety procedures.
• Work well as part of a field team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Meet scheduled attendance and production deadlines.

Big-D Self-Perform is looking for a concrete finisher to join our team in Idaho Falls, Rexburg, ID, and surrounding areas.

Position Summary

Under general direction, finish poured concrete to specifications on Commercial projects (Parking structures, office buildings, warehouse/tilts, etc.)

Experience / Training

• Minimum 5 years of experience of concrete finishing working on commercial projects.

Duties

• Utilize special tools (hand tools, floats, trowels and screeds) and apply finisher skills and knowledge to level, flatten and smooth concrete.
• Apply cementuous materials to hardened concrete walls for a smoother architectural appearance.
• Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions if clarification is needed.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety.
• Work effectively as team member of field workforce
• Commit to and meet scheduled attendance and production deadlines.
• Follow supervisor instructions and decisions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

• Solid and thorough understanding of various tools and components of systems
• Basic OSHA and similar training is necessary; training will be provided.
• Understands plans and shop drawings and how to translate and relay information to others.
• Ability to understand and capture safety concerns and issues for team members.
• Ability to follow verbal directions, implement changes, and monitor material and equipment usage.
• Required to be exact or highly accurate and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to identify proper tools for specific functions.
• Ability to listen and follow directions.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to be responsible for the health and safety of others by working safely.
• Ability to adhere to strict quality control measures.
• Ability to read and understand a tape measure and/or other measuring devices.
