Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. in Del Rio, Texas seeks a skilled laborer to perform concrete placing, finishing, and form work on heavy civil projects. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be able to handle heavy physical work, long hours, and exposure to extreme weather.

Qualifications

• Must possess competence in concrete placing and finishing.
• Direct concrete into forms then spread, level, and smooth concrete.
• Inspect forms concrete forms and make sure they are properly constructed.
• Use edging tools, jointers and straightedge to mold expansion joints and edges.
• Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
• Utilize concrete vibrators to consolidate concrete.
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.

• Confined Space, OSHA certifications (preferred)
• Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and productivity standards.
