Job summary

Crowder Construction Co. is seeking a Concrete Finisher to place, finish, and cure concrete surfaces on diverse civil projects. You will set forms, spread and level concrete, and ensure a smooth finish while observing safety protocols.

Responsibilities include coordinating with crew, monitoring curing conditions, and using hand and power tools to achieve quality results. Experience with concrete finishing and formwork is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to respond quickly to supervisors directions due to the concrete setting up.
• Verify equipment and materials are used properly, and report unsafe conditions to management.

• Move discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms, then spread, level, and smooth concrete using hand or power tools.
• Set forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch, grade, depth.
• Check forms that hold the concrete to ensure proper construction.
• Chip, scrape, and grind high spots and rough projections to finish concrete with chisels or grinders.
• Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools and jointers.
• Monitor wind, heat, or cold effects on curing throughout the process.
• Utilize concrete vibrators to consolidate concrete.
• Be safety-minded and adhere to all safety policies.
• Complete all additional duties as required by supervisor.

Primary Function of a Concrete Finisher:

Place and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand tools. Place concrete for walls and footings. Grind and rub hardened concrete to a uniform surface.

Duties:

Typical Duties include but are not limited to:

• Move discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms then spread, level, and smooth concrete, using a rake, come along, shovel, hand, or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float; rough surface with a broom if plan call for it.
• Set forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch, grade, depth.
• Check forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
• Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete by using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, and/or hand tools.
• Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
• Utilize concrete vibrators to consolidate concrete.
• Must be safety minded and adhere to all safety policies.
• Complete all additional duties as required by supervisor.

La funcion principal de un Acabador de Concreto:

Funciones:

• Verificar las formas que mantienen el concreto para ver si estan bien construidas.
• Astillar, raspar, y pulir puntos altos, crestas, y proyecciones asperas para terminar el concreto usando cinceles neumaticos, pulidoras electricas, y/o herramientas de mano.
• Expansion de molde en la articulacion y bordes, usando herramientas para afilar, punteros, y reglas.
• Supervisar si el viento, calor, y frio afecta el curado del concreto durante todo el proceso.
• Utilizar vibradores de concreto para consolidar el concreto.
• Debe de tener en cuenta la seguridad y adherirse a todos los procedimientos de seguridad.
• Cumplir con todos los deberes adicionales dirigidos por el Supervisor.

Habilidades, Conocimientos, Cualificaciones & Experiencia:

• Debe ser capaz de responder rapidamente a las instrucciones de supervisores debido a la instalacion de concreto.
• Verificar que equipos y materiales se utilicen correctamente, e informar condiciones inseguras al supervisor.
