Job summary

Strobel-Energy-Group-LLC is seeking a concrete finisher to direct final sub-grade prep, form construction, and various concrete finishes per drawings and specs. You will supervise laborers, read blueprints, and ensure proper form setting and curing practices on-site.

The role requires 3–4 years of concrete form setting experience, tool proficiency, and physical ability for manual labor, with a focus on quality finishes under varying weather conditions. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years’ experience with concrete form setting or construction is required.
• Proficiency with industry hand and power tools, including saws.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor.
• Knowledge of slump, concrete testing, additives, curing procedures, specification requirements, weather conditions and their effect on job conditions and finishing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
• Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the various stages of the concrete throughout the entire process.
• Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
• Produce various final finishes on concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
• Produce various final finishes on concrete surfaces based on job specific requirements, using rough/fine brooms or special groove rakes.
• Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Clean shipped area, using wire brush, feel and observe surface to determine if it is rough or uneven.
• Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms.
• Apply sealing compounds to cure surfaces on concrete.operate power vibrator.
• Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
• Checking forms for proper construction.
• Setting forms to desired pitch, depth and proper alignment.
• Understand/Read blueprints and elevations.

Summary

Responsible for directing and performing final sub-grade preparation and form construction for concrete placement. A concrete finisher must be able to level, finish, cure, saw cut, groove, brook or rake finishes, and grind fresh concrete and similar materials according to specifications and drawings. Removes forms, loads and unloads equipment, tools and materials, and performs duties as required to satisfy the overall purpose of the project.
