Joe Bland Construction is hiring a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our Austin-based team. You will be responsible for finishing and smoothing poured concrete surfaces, reading blueprints, and coordinating with other crew members to meet project deadlines.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of concrete finishing experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and proficiency with hand and power tools. This is a full-time on-site role in a dynamic construction environment.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walls, foundations, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints.
• Monitor the curing of the concrete and perform finishing operations when the concrete is ready.
• Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.
• Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team in the Construction industry. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and durability of concrete surfaces, including floors, walls, and sidewalks. Your attention to detail and ability to work with precision will be essential in this role. You will work closely with other members of the construction team to ensure timely completion of projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience in concrete finishing
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in concrete finishing
• Experience operating heavy equipment, such as dump trucks and excavators
• Experience with underground utility work

Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods (8-12 hours/day).
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
• Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Must be able to hear instructions and warnings in a noisy environment.

Skills:

As a Concrete Finisher, you will use your skills in manual labor, hand tools, demolition, excavation, underground utility work, dump truck operation, concrete finishing, and heavy equipment operation on a daily basis. You will need to be able to work with precision and attention to detail to ensure the quality and durability of concrete surfaces. Your ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics will be essential in this role. Additionally, your experience with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques will be valuable in ensuring timely completion of projects.
