Job summary

Equity Residential in Arlington, VA seeks a personable Concierge to deliver superior customer service, coordinate tours, and support move-ins with professionalism and attention to detail, contributing to a welcoming resident experience.

You will greet residents and guests, handle packages, answer phones, arrange transportation, assist with service requests, monitor security, and help maintain a safe, organized community while working a Monday–Friday 3pm–11pm schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation if operating a vehicle.
  • Computer literacy and effective communication in English (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws.
  • Flexibility to work weekends.
  • Employees may need to use their own smartphone for certain tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome residents, prospects, and guests; handle packages promptly and professionally.
  • Answer phones courteously; prepare for self-guided tours; address customer needs.
  • Provide resident services such as lockout assistance, transportation arrangements, and event support.
  • Coordinate routine service requests and pass to relevant personnel; assist with emergencies.
  • Ensure timely entry of service requests and conduct routine inspections of common areas.
  • Monitor security systems and implement security measures to protect sensitive information.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Concierge, you will spend most of your time delivering superior customer service, ensuring seamless tour experiences, exceptional move-ins, total satisfaction, express service, and personal attention, contributing significantly to customer loyalty and resident retention while embodying professionalism at all times.

  • Warmly welcoming residents, prospects, and guests, handling packages promptly and professionally
  • Answering phones with courtesy, preparing for self-guided tours, and proactively addressing customer needs
  • Providing resident services such as lockout assistance, transportation arrangements, and event support
  • Facilitating routine service requests, promptly passing them to relevant personnel, and coordinating emergency responses
  • Ensuring timely entry of service requests and conducting routine inspections for organized common areas
  • Vigilantly monitoring security systems for a secure environment
  • Implementing security measures by securing sensitive information and locking computers when away
What You'll Need To Thrive
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation is required if the employee will operate a motorized vehicle (e.g., car, golf cart) during their workday and/or as part of their role.
  • Computer literacy and effective communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English for all work-related purposes.
  • Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
  • Office team employees, with limited exceptions, are required to use their own Smartphone to perform certain aspects of their job. The device must have updated software and must be password-protected and compliant with in-house security systems.
  • Ability to use the computer effectively and read written communications. Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 15 pounds for the dissemination of documents, supplies, materials, etc. to various locations throughout the office/facility. May be required to climb stairs depending on the property structure.

  • New Jersey only: Fire Safety Certification
Salary: $21.36 - $26.10/hour
  • The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • Employees are eligible for overtime pay and performance incentives.
