Job summary

Aurex is seeking a COMSEC Test Engineer to perform hands‑on testing of encryption systems critical to space and terrestrial networks. You will apply detailed technical knowledge of COMSEC equipment to ensure secure installation and functional checkout of complex hardware and software configurations.

The salary range for this role is 100,000 – 210,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive total rewards approach to compensation, with location in Chantilly, VA and US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Active TOP SECRET SCI access with Counterintelligence Polygraph is required.
• Practical experience in installation and operation of COMSEC equipment within secure architectures.
• Ability to perform hands-on testing of encryption systems for space and terrestrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Technical Integration: apply deep expertise in space and terrestrial networks during COMSEC equipment integration.
• Systems Operations: configure, operate, and test COMSEC systems to ensure mission readiness.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: fault isolation and repair to restore peak functionality.
• Functional Validation: conduct checks to meet security specifications.

Job Description

As a COMSEC Test Engineer, you will perform hands‑on utility and testing of encryption systems critical to securing space systems and terrestrial network architectures. You will apply detailed technical knowledge of COMSEC equipment and specifications to ensure the seamless installation and functional checkout of complex hardware and software configurations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Integration: Apply deep expertise in communications protocols for space and terrestrial networks to mitigate technical and programmatic risks during the integration of COMSEC equipment into operational environments.
• Systems Operations: Execute precise configuration, operation, and performance testing on COMSEC systems to ensure mission readiness.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform critical fault isolation, troubleshooting, and necessary maintenance actions to repair and restore systems to peak functionality.
• Functional Validation: Conduct comprehensive functional checkouts of hardware/software configurations to meet rigorous security specifications.

Qualifications:

• Security Clearance: Active TOP SECRET SCI access with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph is required.
• Technical Expertise: Practical experience in the installation and operation of COMSEC equipment within secure communications architectures.
