COMSEC Manager (Cleared)

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies is hiring a cleared COMSEC Manager to work on-site at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio. The role requires 0 – 10% travel and an active Top Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date records of COMSEC inventory and submit required accounting reports in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Configure, install, and troubleshoot crypto hardware to minimize user downtime.
• Administer initial briefings and debriefings to individual users and maintain copies of all briefings.
• Complete required COMSEC training within the specified performance timelines.
• Program and locally distribute COMSEC devices, including Secure Telephone Equipment (STE), Sectera vIPer Universal Secure phone, and network encryptor solutions (e.g., TACLANEs).
• Order, receive, load, and manage COMSEC keying material using devices such as the Simple Key Loader (SKL) and other necessary equipment.
• Provide technical and administrative support to COMSEC equipment holders; document activities within the DSS Service Support system.
• Evaluate new COMSEC equipment and fax machines for customer use.
• Facilitate interoperability of purchased COMSEC equipment.
• Update and maintain SOPs for COMSEC activities.
• Re‑key circuits as required.
• Assist in properly storing, managing, and maintaining accountability of all COMSEC material and assets.
• Assist IT with networking, cabling troubleshooting, and related tasks.
• Maintain COMSEC access lists for Controlled/Closed Area Designations.
• Ensure prompt and accurate preparation, signature, and submission of accounting correspondence, messages, and reports.
• Conduct periodic spot checks to verify valid clearances.
• Develop and conduct COMSEC training and materials.
• Read and interpret complex network drawings and documentation related to cryptographic requirements.
• Perform hands‑on installation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment as required.
• Perform Over‑The‑Air‑Transfer (OTAT) of key material to remote sites.
• Maintain positive interaction and communication with COR.

Minimum Qualifications

• 0–5+ years experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 0–3+ years experience with a Master's degree in a related field, or high school diploma or equivalent with 4–9+ years relevant experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with enhanced security checks.
• Minimum Top Secret clearance required to start.
• Familiarity with Air Force Manual 17-1301.
• Experience managing the COMPUSEC program.
• Complete annual TEMPEST compliance reviews and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team that includes DoD civilians, military, and contractors.
• Must have or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ within 30 days of employment.

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
