Job summary

The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio is seeking a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) to join our Toledo-based team. The COMS will provide evaluations and mobility training per ACVREP standards to empower clients with vision loss, across education, employment, and independence.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. Travel to client sites is expected, with opportunities to collaborate across rehabilitation professionals and community

Qualifications

• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist credential required.
• Three years of professional experience in visual impairment settings is desirable.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to document accurately and adhere to policies.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements individualized COMS training programs.
• Provides evaluations and mobility training per ACVREP standards.
• Delivers services in offices, client homes, schools, and other settings.
• Maintains documentation for evaluations, reports, and SORs.
• Coordinates with inter-disciplinary teams to plan client care.
• Promotes agency services through presentations and community outreach.
