Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Data Center Virtualization Engineer to design, develop, implement, and maintain virtualization software solutions across data centers, colocations, and cloud environments. You will evaluate emergent technologies to improve performance and resource efficiency while ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.

This role requires an Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph, and a VMware certification or equivalent expertise in data center virtualization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and maintain Data Centers virtualization software solutions.


• Design and develop enterprise solutions across colocations, data centers, and cloud environments.


• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies into the virtualization software solutions to enhance system performance and resource efficiency.


• Evaluate virtualization software solutions vigilantly to reduce systems complexity while maintaining robust cybersecurity measures.


• determine need for enhancements.


• Monitor virtualization software performance and resolve any issues.


• Monitor tools that provide critical insights into workloads, depletion of resources, and peak loads of servers.


• Ensure data accessibility and security.


• Test and troubleshoot hardware and software issues for effective resolution that resolves root causes.


• Assess network and server architecture for efficiency, improvements, or upgrades.


• Create and maintain detailed documentation of the data centers virtualization software, hypervisors, interfaces, layout, system, and processes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to obtain a Poly.


• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience; High School Diploma and 12 years of relevant experience).


• VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization


• Proven work experience providing Data Center virtualization software solutions.


• Experience working in cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances.


• VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design


• Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, and colocation services.


• Analytical skills for cost-benefit analysis and IT strategy development.


• ITIL or other applicable professional certifications.


• Familiarity with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions and their integration into enterprise environments.


• Knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Salesforce software.

Security Clearance

This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
