Meta’s Reality Labs is advancing VR and wearables, conducting research in computer vision and machine learning to connect people worldwide. In this Mixed Reality role, you will tackle calibration, perception, and sensor fusion across Quest, Meta Glasses, and related surfaces, collaborating with researchers and engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience; degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and designing Computer Vision and Perception algorithms for robotics technologies and systems.
  • Experience in C++ development.
  • Prototyping in Computer Vision or Perception for Robotics: camera calibration, online calibration, state estimation, sensor fusion, 3D reconstruction, camera pose estimation, Structure-from-Motion.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop novel factory and online calibration algorithms for sensors and displays.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams from Reality Labs in computer vision and graphics.
  • Participate in advanced research in computer vision applicable to Wearables and VR product development.

The potential to change the world is immense - and we’re just getting started.Our Mixed Reality (XR) organization is focused on advanced research and development of machine perception technologies from early concepts to production level across all of Reality Labs' products and surfaces. These include Quest products, Meta Glasses and Family of Apps (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp). We develop core capabilities across a range of product domains including avatars, AR/VR remote presence and calling, commerce, content sharing, spatial computing, sensor calibration, and more.In this role, you will be researching and applying a range of software, computer vision and machine learning techniques for solving challenges that bridge virtual and real worlds and will impact billions of people. We're addressing a variety of technical challenges in the areas of real-time image processing, 3D graphics, SLAM, scene reconstruction, machine perception, visualization and human interaction. As well there are opportunities to collaborate with researchers in Reality Labs (RL) and Facebook AI Research (FAIR).

  1. Design and develop novel factory and online calibration algorithms for sensors and displays. Design and prototype automation for calibration in collaboration with mechanical engineers and prototyping technicians

  2. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams from Reality Labs in computer vision and graphics

  3. Participate in advanced research in computer vision that can be applied to Wearables and VR product development

  4. Work with other engineers to bring new products to market

  5. Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality standards, and technical culture within your team

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta

  2. 2+ years of experience developing and designing Computer Vision and Perception algorithms for robotics technologies and systems

  3. Experience in C++ development

  4. Prototyping and engineering experience in at least one relevant specialization area in Computer Vision or Perception for Robotics: Camera Calibration, Online Calibration, State Estimation, Sensor Fusion, 3D Reconstruction, Camera Pose Estimation, Structure-From-Motion

  1. Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a related technical field

  2. Publication track record at conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, NeurIPS, ECCV, ICCV, ISMAR, ICML, RSS, ICRA, IROS, etc

  3. Industry experience working on projects such as: Camera Calibration, Online Calibration, State Estimation, Sensor Fusion, 3D Reconstruction, Camera Pose Estimation, Structure-From-Motion

Public Compensation:

$121,992/year to $181,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
