Job summary

fab2 is seeking an engineer to build computer vision software for lithography and metrology in our in-house semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will model optical systems, develop nanometer-scale alignment, and create vision for wafer-handling and post-lithography metrology.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines to solve cross-functional challenges and push innovations on real hardware. We value strong math and programming foundations and the ability to learn quickly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Strong foundation in classical computer vision and image processing.
• Experience with image registration, feature detection, camera calibration, pose estimation, or image filtering.
• Experience analyzing images in spatial and frequency domains.
• Knowledge of optics, illumination, sensors, noise, and resolution effects on image quality.
• Experience developing CV software using Python, C++, OpenCV or similar.
• Ability to design experiments and characterize algorithm accuracy and repeatability.
• Ability to deploy CV work into maintainable production software.

Responsibilities

• Develop classical computer vision algorithms for inspection, measurement/metrology, alignment, and defect detection.
• Build systems to extract measurements and process information from images.
• Develop image registration, camera calibration, and pose estimation for precision equipment.
• Apply spatial and frequency-domain image processing techniques to solve problems.
• Integrate CV systems with cameras, motion systems, robotics, and other electromechanical equipment.
• Turn experimental approaches into reliable production software with testing and optimization.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, electrical, optical, and process engineers on new metrology tools.
