Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking a Computer Vision & AI Integration Engineer to identify, evaluate, and deploy advanced vision, sensing, and AI-enabled solutions across Lear's E-Systems manufacturing operations. You will improve quality, productivity, traceability, and operator effectiveness using machine vision, intelligent inspection, edge AI, and robotics.

Based in Southfield, MI, you will collaborate with manufacturing engineering, plant operations, and external providers to scale successful

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
3+ years in manufacturing automation, machine vision, robotics, or AI-enabled solutions.
Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and equipment integration.

Responsibilities

Identify high-value use cases for computer vision, intelligent inspection, and AI-enabled automation.
Define technical standards and deployment docs for vision/AI apps.
Collaborate with suppliers to implement vision systems for defect detection, verification, and traceability.
Evaluate cameras, lighting, sensors, AI platforms, robotics and integrators.
Lead proof-of-concept and pilot projects from requirements to deployment.
Collaborate with automation, manufacturing engineering, IT and digital teams to integrate solutions.
Support deployment and standardization across multiple plants.
Troubleshoot and optimize system performance in production.
