Job summary

Board of Education of Charles County is seeking an educator with a Cisco Systems license to teach and guide students in a licensed program. The position requires a high school diploma and may prefer a bachelor’s degree, with 3–5 years of Cisco experience an acceptable substitute for the degree.

The role is 11-month and exempt, with responsibilities including planning learning experiences, supervising students, and maintaining accurate records in line with Maryland state policies and district

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Cisco Systems license and meet Maryland licensure requirements.
  • HS diploma is required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of industry experience with Cisco can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Meets licensure requirements as established by the Maryland State Department of Education.

  • Plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students.
  • Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings.
  • Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
  • Communicates with students, parents, staff and community.
  • Develops and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet all students’ needs.
  • Maintains an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children.
  • Maintains records and follows required procedures.
  • Monitors use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains regular attendance; serves on special committees.

Education and Work Experience
  • Must hold a License in CISCO Systems.

  • Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
  • Serves on special committees.
  • Other duties as prescribed by Maryland State Law, Board of Education policy, Negotiated Agreement and Building Principal.
Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
