Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; experience requirements rise by level (4, 8, or 10 years) up to Senior.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Maintains Linux servers, virtual machines, and HPC clusters for scientific, engineering, and research applications.
• Plans upgrades and manages system security.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Linux operating systems on physical and virtual servers, desktops, and HPC clusters.
• Plan and implement system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle/change management processes.
• Create and support virtual machines and containers based on business needs.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, including resource allocation and load balancing.
• Troubleshoot system hardware, software, and operating systems to preserve data integrity.
• Implement security best practices across computing environments.
• Build and maintain the software infrastructure for the HPC environment, including utility scripts and software stacks.
• Train and provide operational oversight to junior-level system administrators.
