Talon Technical Services seeks a Computer Operator for the Supply Support Activity (SSA) at Fort Irwin, CA. The role focuses on GCSS-Army inventory management, data accuracy, and daily log maintenance to support rotational units and local customers.

You will perform GCSS-Army functions, conduct inventories, generate statistical reports, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while mentoring trainees as needed.

Qualifications

• One to two years in retail supply with ERP systems incl. Receiving, Issue, Storage, Turn-In.
• GCSS-Army experience in a distribution center environment.
• GCSS-A training and certification completed (GTRAC) SSA Operations.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Performs GCSS-Army functions and inventory management tasks.
• Maintains daily shift log and verifies accuracy of output.
• Conducts inventories on scheduled cycles and controls sensitive items.
• Prepares statistical reports on inventory accuracy and IARs.
• Supports QA program and safety/quality standards.

Job Summary

The Computer Operator Supply Support Activity (SSA) manages the stock account ensuring the SSA stays within all set established requirements. Works closely with rotational units and hometown customers on order errors, walk ups and support with their accounts.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

• Performs computer functions applicable to Global Combat Support System – Army System (GCSS-Army).
• Performs preventive maintenance and services on computer systems.
• Edits all input, maintains a daily shift log of all events occurring on the shift, and verifies the accuracy of output to include legibility and completeness.
• Ensures scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories/location survey cycles/processes are accomplished.
• Performs and controls special and sensitive/pilferable items inventories.
• Analyzes and prepares statistical data/reports on inventory accuracy, location survey accuracy, and Inventory Adjustment Rate (IAR) reports.
• Performs causative research on IARs, Supply Discrepancy Report (SDRs). Makes adjustments, prepares and presents IARs and SDRs for review and signature.
• Gathers and prepares statistical reports for Government entities.
• Complies with requirements and standards of appropriate regulations, directives, and technical manuals; safety, environmental, and quality standards; and applicable COPs/DOPs.
• Supports/participates in the company QA Program.
• Authority to challenge input data as to accuracy.
• Has “stop work authority” if a safety or potential safety situation occurs.
• Favorably interacts with internal / external customers.
• Complies with all Company rules, policies, and procedures.
• Mentors and assists with on-the-job training and cross-training.
• Participates in training and cross-training sessions as required or necessary.
• Performs housekeeping and other job-related duties as assigned. This job description is indicative of the work required for the position, but is not all inclusive of the work required to perform the duties of the position.

Knowledge & Skills

• Must have a clear understanding of all Microsoft applications, specifically EXCEL.
• Must have a working GCSS-A knowledge of storage, receiving, issue, turn in, Forward Distribution Points (FDP) and inventory management functions.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Must be able to complete within 6 months all business operations and safety-related training courses (HAZCOM, 2-10K Forklift, and HAZMAT Course.)
• Must have completed all GCSS-A Training and Certification Program (GTRAC) training (Wave 1 and Wave 2) (SSA Operations)
• Must be able to maintain a position of Public Trust.

Experience & Education

• One (1) year required, two (2) years preferred experience in retail supply activity functions with a working knowledge of Enterpirse Resource Planning systems in all warehouse functions to include Receiving (PGR), Issue (PGI), Storage and Turn-In .
• One (1) year or two (2) years preferred GCSS-Army experience in a distribution center environment.
• At least six (6) months hands on GCSS-A experience in inventory management.
• Must have completed all GCSS-A Training and Certification Program (GTRAC) training in SSA Operations
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Individual must be able to perform required duties, and wear and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Individual must be able to lift/move 45 lbs without assistance and up to 130 lbs with assistance.
• Able to meet criteria of DA PAM 611-21 and AR 601-210.
• Individual must be physically capable of performing the work in extreme temperatures, low humidity, blowing sand and dust.
• Individual may be required to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• May be required to work under stressful circumstances and meet short suspenses.
• Job may require operating at heights above ten (10) feet but not more than thirty (30) feet.
• Must have a Valid State Driver’s License. Non-California residents must obtain the proper California Driver’s License within 10 days of beginning work.
