Reports To: Engineering Manager

Position Summary

This role is responsible for programming cutting machines and press brakes—including Amada Laser Punch Combination, Amada Ensis Laser, and Amada Punch systems—using SolidWorks CAD and SigmaNest camming software. The position supports production by optimizing designs, developing accurate programs, and maintaining controlled documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize customer-supplied drawings and models using SolidWorks CAD
  • Develop flat patterns for the camming and programming process
  • Program laser, punch, and press brake equipment using SigmaNest
  • Verify incoming work orders for accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with customers to improve part design and manufacturability
  • Provide detailed build drawings to the production floor
  • Support production with design, tooling, and programming issues
  • Manage customer and internal change requests while maintaining document control
  • Review peer drawings and programs for accuracy and quality
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support company goals
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical school certificate in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of SolidWorks CAD experience
  • At least 3 years of programming experience in a manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of metal fabrication processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related technical tools
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with regular computer use
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments, including dust, metal shavings, machinery oil, and powder coating
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Periodic physical activity including walking, standing, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and stooping
  • Extended periods of computer use requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Safety glasses and approved footwear when on the production floor
