Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a qualified cybersecurity professional for a full-time role in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in cybersecurity and related qualifications, including IAT Level II and other pertinent certifications. This position requires expertise in monitoring and assessing information systems, responding to potential threats, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. A Top Secret clearance is required. Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Five (5) years of relevant experience or related formal education.
• Two (2) years of experience performing root cause analysis of cybersecurity events and incidents.
• Two (2) years of experience analyzing network traffic and/or system logs.
• Written and verbal skills to appropriately document and brief Cybersecurity Indicators.
• Working knowledge of at least two cybersecurity areas: Firewall, IDS/IPS, Host based antivirus, Vulnerability Management, Forensics, Malware Analysis, Device Hardening, Understanding of Defense‑in‑Depth.
• Ability to build and read scripts in languages such as Perl, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python.
• Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts within federal environments.

• DoD 8140 (DoDD 8570) IAT Level II Baseline Certification (at least one)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCAN‑Security)
• COMPTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
• Certified Network Defender (CND)

Responsibilities

• Perform actions to protect, monitor, detect, analyze and respond to unauthorized activity within assigned information systems and computer networks.
• Employ cybersecurity capabilities and deliberate actions to respond to a CND alert or emerging situational awareness/threat.
• Serve as an expert on CND requirements and compliance, using IA tools and techniques to perform compliance analysis, correlation, tracking and remediation.
• Provide technical analysis and sustainment support for the enterprise IA tools and applications, and assist with application of Defense‑In‑Depth signatures and perimeter defense controls.

Security Clearance

U.S. Citizen. Top Secret – IT‑I and eligible for SCI.

Physical Demands

Work requires regular use of hands, arms, standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds. Visual and hearing requirements include depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
