Job Description:

FGS, LLC is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design and integration of secure, scalable cloud and hybrid-cloud solutions supporting enterprise mission requirements for the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, Maryland. The selected candidate will translate mission and technical requirements into target architectures, roadmaps, standards, implementation patterns, and actionable migration plans.

The Cloud Solutions Architect will provide technical leadership across cloud platforms, applications, data services, identity services, cybersecurity capabilities, and enterprise networks. The role will guide architecture decisions from concept through implementation, lead technical trade studies and reviews, and validate that delivered solutions satisfy performance, resiliency, security, interoperability, and operational requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain target cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures, transition roadmaps, reference designs, standards, and reusable implementation patterns.
• Translate Government mission needs, operational constraints, and technical requirements into secure, scalable, supportable cloud-solution designs.
• Define interfaces and integration patterns among cloud platforms, enterprise networks, applications, data services, identity services, security services, and external systems.
• Lead workload discovery, application and data assessments, disposition analysis, dependency mapping, and cloud-migration planning.
• Evaluate public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud alternatives and recommend appropriate IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, container, and managed-service solutions.
• Conduct architecture analyses, technical trade studies, proofs of concept, and design reviews; document assumptions, constraints, risks, costs, and recommendations.
• Design for availability, performance, scalability, resiliency, backup, recovery, continuity of operations, monitoring, and operational supportability.
• Coordinate cloud networking, segmentation, routing, connectivity, name services, load balancing, and secure access with network and cybersecurity teams.
• Integrate identity, credential, access-management, encryption, logging, monitoring, vulnerability-management, and Zero Trust requirements into solution architectures.
• Define architecture approaches for Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, CI/CD, DevSecOps, containers, orchestration, and policy automation.
• Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, interface-control documents, technical specifications, decision records, implementation plans, and migration playbooks.
• Provide technical direction and design guidance to cloud engineers, systems engineers, developers, data specialists, network engineers, and cybersecurity personnel.
• Review implementation artifacts and delivered capabilities for conformance with approved architectures, standards, security requirements, and technical baselines.
• Support program planning, estimates, schedules, risk management, technical briefings, acquisition activities, and contractual deliverables.
• Brief Government and program leadership on architecture status, alternatives, technical risks, dependencies, and recommended decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance at the time of hire.
• Minimum eight years of relevant architecture or engineering experience.
• At least five years supporting complex Government network or cloud environments.
• Demonstrated experience with enterprise integration, interface design, and cloud or hybrid-cloud architecture.
• Experience developing target architectures, technical roadmaps, reference designs, standards, and implementation guidance.
• Experience conducting workload assessments, migration planning, technical trade studies, architecture reviews, and implementation validation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud service models, distributed-system design, networking, identity, cybersecurity, data integration, resiliency, and operations.
• Current professional-level technical certification relevant to cloud architecture, enterprise networking, systems architecture, or cybersecurity.
• Ability to develop clear architecture documentation and brief technical concepts, risks, and recommendations to senior Government stakeholders.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Professional cloud-architecture certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or comparable certification.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other accredited Government cloud environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or comparable technologies.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, continuous integration and delivery, and automated configuration or policy enforcement.
• Experience with cloud networking, software-defined networking, Zero Trust architecture, identity federation, and privileged-access management.
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, systems-engineering processes, architecture repositories, or model-based systems engineering.
• Familiarity with DoD or Intelligence Community cloud security, authorization, data-protection, and operational requirements.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams supporting cloud modernization and enterprise integration.

Education Requirements:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education when permitted by applicable contract requirements.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are required at the time of hire. The employee must maintain clearance eligibility throughout employment.

Physical, Work Environment & Conditions:

• Primarily onsite in Suitland, Maryland, with limited telework when authorized.
• Work is performed in a professional office, secure-facility, and occasional data-center or equipment-room environment.
• Must be able to use standard office and information-technology equipment and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with technical, mission, program, and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Occasional schedule flexibility or limited travel may be required to support technical reviews, integration, or deployment activities.
