Job summary

BC Tech Pro is seeking a Computer Field Technician to perform hardware repairs and installations on laptops and desktops across Albany, Georgia. This role involves variable daily travel, with compensation based on completed service calls, starting at $35 per call.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware, along with reliable transportation. Certifications will be provided during onboarding. The position offers the flexibility of a 1099 structure, allowing you to manage your schedule efficiently.

Qualifications

• Prior hands-on experience with replacing components on laptops and desktops.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience with Dell and Lenovo certifications (optional but preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware repairs and installations on laptops and desktops.
• Log into the tech portal daily by 9 am for scheduling.
• Confirm service times with customers and manage parts pick up and drop off.

Job Description

This is aComputer Field Technician Positiondoing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware.

• This is a 1099/per call position
• Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
• Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
• Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
• Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
• Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
• You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
• You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
• You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
• You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
• The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
• You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
• You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.
