Job description

Computer Engineering Expert — AI Content Specialist

We're looking for computer engineering experts to help train and improve the next generation of AI models. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs — and we need people who truly understand hardware, systems, and low-level software to make these models smarter, more accurate, and more reliable.

About The Role

We're looking for computer engineering experts to help train and improve the next generation of AI models. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs — and we need people who truly understand hardware, systems, and low-level software to make these models smarter, more accurate, and more reliable. This is a rare opportunity to apply deep technical knowledge in a flexible, remote freelance role that directly shapes how AI reasons about computer architecture, embedded systems, and hardware design.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
  • Design Complex Technical Challenges — Create advanced computer engineering problems spanning RISC-V/ARM architecture, FPGA development, memory management, and hardware-software co-design
  • Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions including assembly code, HDL snippets, and architectural diagrams that serve as reference-quality "golden responses" for AI training
  • Audit AI-Generated Content — Evaluate AI outputs across C/C++, Verilog, VHDL, logic gate designs, and OS kernels for technical accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards
  • Identify and Fix Reasoning Errors — Spot logical flaws in AI reasoning — race conditions, memory leaks, improper timing constraints — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance
  • Stress-Test AI Capabilities — Challenge models on topics like computer architecture, embedded systems and IoT, networking and distributed systems, hardware security, and operating systems, documenting failure modes to harden model reasoning
Who You Are
  • Pursuing or completed a Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science (hardware focus), or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational expertise in one or more of: Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Digital Logic Design, or Operating Systems
  • Able to communicate highly technical hardware and low-level software concepts clearly and concisely in writing
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented — comfortable reasoning about bit-level operations, clock-cycle timing, and precise technical documentation
  • Self-motivated and reliable working independently on a flexible schedule
  • No prior AI experience required
Nice to Have
  • Experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as MATLAB, ANSYS, or similar platforms
  • Background in hardware security, FPGA toolchains, or real-time embedded systems
Why Join Us
  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs and AI teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, anywhere in the world
  • Freelance autonomy: choose your hours, your pace, and your workload (10–40 hrs/week)
  • Gain firsthand exposure to how large language models are built and trained
  • Contribute meaningfully to AI systems that will influence the future of technical reasoning
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
