Job summary

TRISTAR seeks a Computer Engineer II to develop, test, and maintain software components that meet our standards in a DoD-focused environment. You will participate in the full SDLC, address defects, and support DT activities with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in software design or related fields, strong Java/C++/Python skills, and Agile experience. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of programming languages (Java, C++, Python).
• Experience in Agile or iterative development environments.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full SDLC, including coding, unit testing, integration, and defect resolution.
• Support system integration and Developmental Test (DT) activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to technical documentation (design descriptions, test procedures, user guides).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems engineering, cybersecurity, T&E).
• Follow configuration management and version control processes.
