Job summary

Katmai is seeking an experienced Training Developer to lead the creation of Interactive Multimedia Instruction and Computer Based Training. The role involves delivering training across multimedia, virtual, game-based, and distributed environments, following established methodologies and collaborating with ISD SMEs, graphic artists, and programmers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 2–5 years of experience developing military training.
  • Experience with authoring tools and related software for producing multimedia training packages.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging training materials for instructor-led, computer-based, web-based, and mobile delivery.
  • Develop training products using AIM Learning Object Module (LOM).
  • Collaborate with Instructional Systems Designers, Graphic Artists, Programmers, and SMEs to create interactive multimedia courseware.
  • Develop test items.
  • Scale development to meet production timelines.
  • Keep abreast of training and development research and best practices.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the development and delivery of Interactive Multi-Media Instruction (IMI) and Computer Based Training (CBT) under the general guidance of the Project Manager and ISD SME. Produces training solutions across multimedia, virtual, game-based, and distributed learning environments. Responsible for creating deliverables in accordance with established methodologies, processes, and collaborative working group practices throughout all phases of IMI and CBT development, ensuring consistent, reliable, and repeatable results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop engaging training materials for a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led, computer-based, web-based, and mobile training.
  • Develop training products using Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Learning Object Module (LOM).
  • Work with Instructional Systems Designers, Graphic Artists, Programmers, and Subject Matter Experts in the development of interactive multimedia courseware.
  • Develop test items.
  • Scale development efforts to meet production timelines.
  • Keep abreast of training and development research: new materials, methods and techniques.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or two (2) to five (5) years of experience developing military training.
  • Experience with authoring tools and related software for producing multimedia training packages.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance (generally, U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with military training is preferred. Navy experience is a plus.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and presentation skills.
WORK SCHEDULE

Full-Time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

Potential for travel. When required, employee will need to complete an MVR check.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodations, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office setting, may operate in military training areas. May be exposed to sharp objects, some heat, loud noise, chemicals and vibration. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 50lbs. Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay: $75,004.80 to $82,284.80 per year.
