Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a CT Technologist at St. Francis Medical Center to perform diagnostic CT scans and provide direct patient care with a compassionate approach. You will ensure image quality, verify data, and support radiologists in procedures.

Required ARRT Diagnostic Radiology registration, BLS, and preferred CT modality registration; 1 year CT experience and EPIC/PACS familiarity are desirable. Competitive benefits and on-site scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute is preferred.
• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
• State licensure is preferred where required by the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association is required at hire for some locations.
• Advanced CT modality registration with ARRT is preferred or must be obtained within two years.
• Minimum 1 year CT/Rad Tech experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures image quality and verifies patient data.
• Performs CT procedures and radiographic assessments.
• Positions patients and ensures proper immobilization.
• Administers contrast agents as ordered and monitors responses.
• Assists radiologists with procedures and biopsies using sterile technique.

CT Technologist – St. Francis Medical Center

Job Summary The CT Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment in a way that provides direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner. The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.

Essential Functions

• Assures the quality of all images and confirms that all pertinent patient/procedural data is correct.
• Performs computed tomography procedures.
• Performs timeout as required per policy.
• Properly positions patients on CT scanning cradles and properly immobilizes patients with appropriate devices to obtain desired position.
• Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per physician request and patient history.
• Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of use and care of existing IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
• Assists the radiologist with biopsies, drainage procedures, etc. utilizing sterile techniques, exhibiting safe and effective use of all contrast and radiation materials.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
• Participates in on call rotation as required.

Education

• Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)

Required Licensing & Certifications

• BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
• Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within two years)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)

Experience

• 1 year of experience as CT or Rad Tech (preferred)
