Overview
Princeton University Library (PUL) seeks a creative and dedicated Computational Sciences Librarian focused on research data, computational science, and AI literacy. The librarian reports to the Head of Science and Engineering Teaching and Research Services and works within the Data, Research, and Teaching Services division to support faculty, students, and staff across Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Princeton Center for Statistics and Machine Learning, and the broader STEM community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a collection of resources in computer science and electrical and computer engineering, including emerging AI and machine learning literature.
- Provide instruction, outreach, and training on computational methods, large language model use cases, and data‑intensive research workflows.
- Consult with patrons on research data management, responsible AI use, and scholarly communications workflows.
- Collaborate with librarians, information specialists, and PUL units to represent the library in professional contexts.
- Support liaison duties in other STEM or advanced data services as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library Science or an equivalent background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Statistics.
- Strong research skills in computer science and engineering, including proficiency with library databases and related software platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal, project, and time‑management skills with a collaborative and collegial approach.
- Experience with instruction, research consultations, and rapidly changing library service guidelines.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in science and engineering librarianship with a focus on research support.
- Experience with collection development in technical and computing fields.

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000. Princeton University offers a comprehensive benefits program for eligible employees.
