Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Computational Physicist to support an engineering services contract in Dahlgren, VA. Candidates who are mission-oriented and enjoy a fast-paced team environment are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply algorithms, computational models and simulations to support ongoing technical pursuits.
  • Develop custom numerical models, create optimization algorithms, and/or use commercial tools to predict complex phenomena and design advanced devices.
  • Work closely with engineers and experimentalists to build prototypes and validate models against experimental data.
  • Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and technicians to gain deeper insights into sensors, devices, and underlying physical phenomena.
  • Collaborate with researchers and colleagues to generate new ideas and approaches.
  • Support method development for analysis of flight under various conditions such as flight profile, environmental factors, or component failures.
  • Develop and maintain models for use in simulation environments.
  • Collaborate with researchers and colleagues in a variety of disciplines to ensure simulation models accurately reflect real‑world data.
  • Validate data generated by simulations to optimize designs or assess system performance.
  • Utilize critical thinking and technical judgment in support of mission simulations.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Physics or an Engineering Discipline.
  • Experience coding algorithms to solve differential equations.
  • Experience in simulation, data analysis, and documentation of simulation events.
  • Strong grasp of numerical simulation methods and creative problem design.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
Desired
  • Greater than 3 years experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in simulation and evaluation of DoD equipment.
  • Experience coding algorithms in Python.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret level DOD security clearance.
