Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or related field.
• Strong publications and conference presentations in genetics or AI applications to biology.
• Ability or potential to secure external research funding.
• Proficiency in R, Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics tools.
• Experience with single-cell/spatial transcriptomics and multimodal data.
• Experience in human subjects research, healthcare data, or biomedical applications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply computational, statistical, and AI/ML methods to large, multi-omics datasets.
• Lead independent research projects and collaborative team science initiatives.
• Secure external funding (NIH/NSF/foundations) to support programs.
• Mentor trainees and collaborate with HFH and MSU investigators.
