Job summary

Arc Institute in Palo Alto seeks two Scientists for its Computational Technology Center to convert large-scale Perturb-seq and single-cell data into mechanistic biological insights.

You will collaborate with experimentalists and ML researchers, apply state-of-the-art analyses, and help drive open-science initiatives across the lab. A PhD with strong data skills is required, and work will be done largely on-site.

Qualifications

  • PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, systems biology, ML, CS, molecular biology or related field.
  • 0–4 years of postdoctoral or professional research experience.
  • Demonstrated track record deriving biological insight from large-scale single-cell, perturbational, or multi-omic data.
  • Hands-on experience with single-cell, perturbational, or multi-omic data and large datasets.
  • Expertise in Perturb-seq/CRISPR screens or single-cell analysis in neurodegeneration context.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tertiary analyses of Perturb-seq, single-cell, multi-omic datasets to relate genes, programs, and phenotypes.
  • Work on track-specific tasks like guide assignment, perturbation-effect estimation, or microglia trajectory analysis.
  • Partner with experimental teams for study design, interpretation, and validation; translate insights into hypotheses.
